    Questions

    1 - 2 of 2 Questions

Q: Would this be a benefit to a recently planted globe blue spruce?

    1 Answer
    • A: Good morning! Fertilizer should be applied in early spring or late fall. Your new planting doesn’t require a heavy amount of fertilization but could probably benefit from a light fertilization later this fall.

Q: We have 5 cedars. How many spikes per cedar? Are they hammered in or is it necessary to dig a hole?

    1 Answer
    • A: I'd suggest to start with 4 equally spaced under the drip line of the tree. They are easy to hammer in if the soil allows you to. As the tree grows the drip line will get bigger and you will have to put them a little further out. Also over the years, I found that having the soil under the trees a little lower than the grass around it creating a basin which allows the rain and your watering to feed the roots better.
