Hope it’s better than gas operated one.

I haven’t even unboxed this ice auger yet, so I can’t give it a positive or negative review as of yet. Will have to wait until the ice is safe enough to ice fish on. Until that happens I can’t say anything positive or negative.

We can guarantee you will love your new ION ice auger. You will enjoy not having to put gas and oil in it. Remember to transport the auger without the battery on it. Keep the battery warm while you transport it. Once you are out to your spot, put the battery on it, drill your holes and then remove the battery and put it back in its warm place to keep it warm until you need to drill another hole. A fully charged, warm battery will give you optimal performance. Everything you need in an auger!

I've been using the ION R1 for two seasons. I love to ice fish and drilling several holes to find the structure and transitions is imperative to a productive day on the ice. The ION R1 helps facilitate my methods. I recently took this up north with 9 other guys. We drilled holes all weekend on one charge and there was a lot left in the battery. I instructed all my buddies to leave their manual and gas augers at home. This is the way to go! It's light, powerful and dependable. You can not go wrong.

Worth the price

Always had a gas auger, switched to the ION electric. Best thing I ever did. No smoke, tons of torque and battery lasts far longer then you would expect. Get one, you won't regret it!
