High chemical smell

Not sure why this is. But one i purchased has such a strong chemical odor wow. The smell comes off onto your hands.

Q: are the fittings in the bonus kit 3/8" to match the hose or are they 1/4"?

A: The inner diameter of the hose is 3/8" and the fitting thread is 1/4" NPT.
