cheap, cheap,cheap

I decided to try this brand, as I couldn't find an intex pool in my area. Should have kept looking. This pool is made very cheap and flimsy. Thought the poles were made of plastic. The pump has no on/off switch, which can be a pain if you are not close to your plug in. As for the vacuum it is a waste of effort to even put it together, all it does is move dirt around the bottom of the pool. It went up easy, but when we filled it the liner had a hole in it. Would not recommend this pool.

Nice pool, lousy cover

The pool was easy to set up. Nice size but they cheaped out on the cover. The grommits tore in less than a week and doesn't cover the pool very well. Icould purchase the same pool with a better cover at Walmart.

Q: What ? No Warranty ? Good Lord, I've never heard of such a thing. I would purchase the 18' in favor of the 15' but the absence of a warranty has me worried. Has anyone out there purchased this pool ? Is it worhwhile over the 15' ? Thanks.

A: I have had this pool for 3 years now, and love it!! We keep it up year round, and need to repair a valve now. Would recommend anyday -good value for the price!!

Q: how to fix leak around drain plug seal I purchased the pool 2 years ago and it recently started spraying water from around the seal connecting the drain plug. does Canadian Tire sell repair kits or replacement liners? Is this a common problem?

A: This same problem happened with mine. I went to one of our local pool dealers. They gave me a piece of pool liner big enough to make 4 patches and sold me a can of vinyl cement. This might sound harder than it is, actually quite simple and doesn't take more than an hour. You can do this with water still in the pool, but I did mine before filling it up. With water in your pool you basically can only cover the drain with a large patch... I cut my drain off, which left a 2" hole. I cut 2, 4" round patches (can't be square) and 2, 8" round patches. I glued the first 4" patch to the inside and once dry, glued the other to the outside. After that was dry, I glued the 8" patch over the 4" patch on the inside and then on the outside. I've gotten 2 seasons with this patch so far. Getting ready to set it up for the fifth season. Follow the instructions on the cement bottle and you'll have no problems. I had enough liner to continue patching all the holes that these pools develop, usually one small round patch is all it takes. Ya, you no longer have a drain, but you don't need it. You can use gravity and a garden hose or us a pump and drain it in a few hours instead of days with that drain hole. Hope this was helpful, check with a pool supply company for some pro-help.

Q: Can a replacement pump for this pool be purchased? I've had this pool for 4 years and its the best $600 ive spent! The impeller of the pump has broken and i am now looking for a new pump to replace it. Can it be purchase at Canadian Tire?
