Disappointed...

Nice size machine for my needs. Starts on the first crank , don't even need to use the electric starter. The negative issue is with the drivetrain. If theres heavy or dense snow the snowblower's wheels will stop turning and you then become the drivetrain by having to push it forward. The reverse speed is slower than a snail.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Good for small amount of snow

My experience is this really struggles if snow is wet. You need to physically push it through the snow. If you have less than a foot of snow to plow and it is fresh and light it works decent. Otherwise it struggles big time. I would recommend paying a bit more for a more powerful snow blower.

No, I do not recommend this product.

the belt broke first winter and it had a surging issue needed the carb cleaned in the first winter i hope after this service it will be reliable i contacted husqvarna they told me to bring it to the closest certified service center because it is under garanty but the carburator cleaning is not covered from what the service center told me and they also said that the carb adjustment or jets blocking is pretty common on these when they are new!i also changed the oil after about 15 hours and it was black the recommended first change is at 25 hours... the spark plug was also black because of the carburator issue and none of that is passes on the 3 year bumper to bumper garanty from huskvarna apparently🤷‍♂️so if you need a reliable machine put your money in a good old yamaha or honda!

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Does it have a pull start if electrical access isn't convenient?

  • A: Sorry for the tardy response.  Took it out of storage yesterday as it was needed.  To answer your question, this model can be started with a pull rope.

Q: Where is the motor for this snowblower manufactured please?

3 Answers
  • A: The model # W210FSE is stamped into the engine base, this is made in China by Weima. Husqvarna specs say it is made by Husqvarna, but It appears to be outsourced from China. From my online searches there is no parts list or any info in North America, they appear to be sold mostly in Eastern Europe.

Q: under your specs you say that it can blow snow up to 11 feet. That seems like a misprint. some of your other models say up to 46 feet. what is the snow blowing distance of the husqvarna st 124

3 Answers
  • A: I would steer clear of buying a HUSQVARNA Snowblower altogether. The model 124 can throw the snow about 11 feet back from the driveway but that would depend on the type of snow and which way the wind is blowing. I didn't make it home with the blower before I discovered a problem with the machine. I called the company and spoke to someone in the Phillipines. They did not have parts for their snowblower and said they didn't know when the parts would be in. The Canadian supplier did not have parts neither did the local Service repair. You want to buy something reliable if you are spending money on a machine. Spend a little more at the start and have less headaches later on.

Q: When the machine is off, how do you turn? Seems like both wheels are locked together to the axel. If I remove the pin on the wheel, then the tires move independently of each other, but does that mean when the machine is powered on, the wheels wont power

2 Answers
  • A: As far as I know the wheels don't turn whether the motor is on or off. To turn you need your own power.

Q: Does the Husqvarna ST124 have assisted steering, (whereby during a turn, power to one of the wheels slows or locks each tire separately depending on the direction of the turn) or is power always equal on both wheels, which makes it difficult to turn.

2 Answers
  • A: No the power is directed equally to each wheel.

Q: What material  is the trans and gear box made of?

2 Answers
  • A: The differential for the augers is metal and has a grease fitting! Not  a lot of blowers include the fitting . The gearbox (like most inexpensive blowers) which has no gears, only speeds, uses an idler that runs on a cone. hope this is helpful. Surprised that CTC could not provide the info, Just bought the unit and will await a real snowstorm before writing a review
