Built a 6x4 dock around one float. Attached one side to dock, the other to the float. Dock sinks on float side.

A: Hello, the holes will accomodate a 3/8" lag bolt and the distance between holes is 1' 11"

Q: How many floats do I need for a 4 X 10 floating dock and how many are in one package? shore depth 2 feet and on far side 10 feet. There will be a 12 foot boat with an outboard tied to the dock and I am using 5/4" boards plus 2 adults.

Q: can you leave these in the water over winter when the lake freezes

A: Yes, they can stay in the lake, as long as they are in deep enough water. Water levels drop in the winter, which can cause the float to sit on the bottom in shallow areas. So it must be deep water. As well, there must not be any ice flow or strong currents that will shift ice or create ice flow that will smack into the floats. Other than that they are perfectly fine to stay in the lake.

Q: Possible Incorrect Feature Description It seems that this item (79-2677) may have inadvertently been given the same features description that the Howell 55 (79-2678) Dock Float has. What are the actual dimension for the Howell 400 Float Dock?
