Terrible Product, Terrible Service

Bought a year ago and machine broke down. Hoover replaced it and upon first use, the second machine was faulty. Contacted Hoover again and their recommendation is to drive 3 hours to the nearest service centre. Hoover is now not replying either and appears to be waiting out the warranty period to not deal with these issues.
No, I do not recommend this product.

A: The length of the fibre strands is pertinate to the Hoover rotary brush configuration, short shag- no problem, long fibre shag may damage the machine or the carpet or both. The quality of the carpet yarn is the deciding factor on cleanability. A nylon, heat set yarn will clean easily & not untwist from the cleaning action. All other fibres will present various problems; ie, polyester is soft & easily damaged both by soil & cleaning machines, olefin is hard wearing but difficult to clean by any home owner type machine. Always use very little detergent & take time to rinse twice.

A: Bonjour, si vous avez aussi des tapis à nettoyer, cet article est idéal. Par contre, si c’est seulement pour les fauteuils et divans, c’est trop gros pour rien. Optez plutôt pour le modèle Cleanslate Plus. Il sera plus pratique, plus petit, moins lourd et conviendra aussi pour les petits tapis d’entrée.

A: Yes but very little, 1/4 cup each tank refill. Home Hardware has carpet & upholstery Extraction Cleaner much cheaper than Hoover brand cleaner. Rinse repeatedly without cleaner for best results.

Q: I have been using this product since last 2 to 3 months and I have notice that its noise level is very high. Every time I use this cleaner , I have to use ear plugs to protect my ears. Is this the normal for this carpet cleaner? I have to claim warranty?

Q: What accessory tools are included in this? The Hoover Deluxe carpet washer 15040 or 15050 has tools that this one does not have? How does this Elite compare to the deluxe?

A: Thank you for the question. The Hoover Elite PowerScrub Carpet Cleaner has a few features not found on the Deluxe. A beneficial feature found on the 043-8212 is the “QuickDry” or Quick Clean mode, this feature provides a faster dry time when cleaning carpets. The Dry time in this mode is approx 45 mins and allows you to get back to enjoying your carpets much sooner. For comparison a normal dry time without this feature is approx. 3-4 hours. The Hoover Elite PowerScrub “QuickDry” also includes a deep clean mode for cleaning that those heavy traffic areas. As well, this model as a 25% larger tank than the Deluxe version, which means less fewer trips and less emptying. Also found on this model is a larger cleaning path (12”), this wider foot provides less passes to clean your carpet vs that on the Deluxe. Lastly, the Hoover Elite PowerScrub a 2-in-1 Antimicrobial Tool is great for cleaning up after pet messes, but also includes protection to limit the growth of bacteria and make maintenance of the tool less of a chore. It also includes a crevice tool, stair tool to help clean upholstery, stairs, above floor surfaces and other hard to reach areas. Q: Does the floor brunches spin while you use the attachments for the furniture.

A: No they do not. This is a great feature & a no-brainer in design, something that my previous carpet cleaner (the Bissell ProHeat 2x Revolution Pet Pro) does not have - the brushes on the Bissell spin the minute you turn the machine on. Thankfully this Hoover Elite Powerscrub only turns the brushes on each time you lower the handle to carpet clean.
