Glass lid broke

This slow cooker was great for the first couple of years. Then a few nights ago it was cooking away on low setting, and my wife and I heard a bang sound from the kitchen. The glass lid had completely cracked! We had to throw away the entire meal because of little glass splinters. We take good care of our appliances and always let things cool down before moving or washing them. We are very disappointed!

Bought this item in March 2019. Found that capacity is about 4.35 litres, which is far less than the stated 5.7L/6 Qt(US). Further, the insert slides around, leading to uneven and unsatisfactory cooking. When I contacted Hamilton Beach Customer Service about the volume issue, they stated that solid volumes are calculated differently from liquid volumes and that "...reviewers often use liquids to measure the volume, which leads to different results.."! After many years of teaching physics, I suddenly find out that Archimedes and other scientistd were wrong!!!

Not 6 quarts as listed, only 4 quart capacity, insert doesn't fit properly in heating element

The insert is only 4 quarts, not 6 quarts as listed. Furthermore, the insert is smaller than the space it is supposed to fill in the heating element. The heat is therefore lost and cooking is made impossible. Overall, a horrible design, I am shocked that Canadian Tire would carry such a product.

Perfect for what I needed.

Needed a decent sized slow cooker so I picked this one up about 2 months ago. It was the last one in stock and on sale. I’ve used it over half a dozen times, now. Seems to work great - no issues. As a bonus, I used my Canadian Tire money, so essentially, I got it free. Happy customer!

My daughter has this slow cooker, I borrowed it and loved it! It has a rubber seal around the lid for a tight fit to ensure no wobbling or spitting condensation. The cook time is excellent. I recommend it for a larger slow cooker.

A: Hi, the exterior of the crockpot insert (at the widest part) is: length - handle to handle - 38 cm / 14 3/4" width - 29 cm / 11.5" height with lid on - 21cm / 8" height with lid off - 14cm / 5.5"

A: It has .... HI - LOW - WARM features. But it doesn't have a timer on this model. I love it though !!!

Q: Automatically switch to warm? Does this slow cooker automatically switch to warm after a specific period of time? I"m often gone from the house for 9 hours and with my current model the food is overcooked even when it is 3/4 full. Thanks!!
