This kettle is heavy when filled with water. Inside rusts. Water leaks from base after a year. Not surprised this model was discontinued.

Q: I have read elsewhere that this kettle can boil dry and not shut off at higher altitudes where the boiling temperature is lower. When set to boil or the max temperature, does this kettle turn off or switch to warming once the water boils in Calgary?

A: How do you reset the max temperature? I ended getting this, and can confirm in Calgary that it will not shut off when the water starts boiling. The temperature reaches 97 C, starts to boil, and the kettle keeps on heating. It would be great if I could adjust the boil setting to be 97 C instead of 100 C

A: So the handle does not over heat and burn you when touching it. Most company's are to cheap to put things like example silicone instead.
