Awesome

Bought it many years ago. Still have it. Used lots and no problems. Stored food in it in the fridge too but nothing acidic.

Replaced my old canner with this.

Bought a new cooktop, found out I couldn't use my old canner. Needed something with a base no bigger than 11". This fit the bill. Although now I can only do 4qts or 5pts at a time. It works great. Some reviews said it leaked around the riveted handles, mine doesn't. So far I'm totally satisfied.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: Does this 20 quart stock pot have a heavy duty bottom rather than same material as the sides? Also will it work on an induction stove top?

  • A: I don't know if it will work on an induction stove but the whole pot is pretty thin. Definitely no heavy duty bottom.

  • A: Thank you for your question regarding our stockpots and if they are induction friendly. In a nutshell, the answer is no, they are not. Cookware that is induction friendly will be marked as such so as not to mislead the consumer.

Q: What are the diameters of the different sizes?

2 Answers
  • A: The 20QT stockpot's diameter is 38.5cm from handle to handle. If you are only asking about the pot's diameter without consideration of the handles, the diameter of the pot is 32cm. The 12QT stockpot's diameters are 33cm with consideration to the handles and 27cm without.

Q: what does the 0.5 mm gauge mean? How does this compare with other 18/10 cookware?

2 Answers
  • A: 0.5mm gauge simply refers to the thickness of the stainless steel used in making a product. "18/10" has nothing to do with the thickness of the S/S, but rather to the quality of the S/S. The first number in 18/10 stainless steel refers to the percentage of the alloy that is made up of chromium. In order to be considered stainless steel at all, that number must be at least 10.5%. A higher value of chromium means that the protective layer will be thicker and will repair itself more quickly if damaged. Therefore, 18/10 stainless steel has a high level of chromium, and will be more resistant to staining and corrosion. Chromium alone is not enough to create the most durable and beautiful stainless steel cookware possible. The addition of another element to the alloy increases the effectiveness of the protective layer that forms over the steel surface, and also makes the cookware gleam more brightly. That element is nickel.

Q: combien de litres la marmite?

2 Answers
Approximation; Donc 8 pintes (quarts US)= 7.5 litres 12 pintes = 11 litres 20 pintes = 19 litres
