works as expected.
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) It is a corded electric lawn mower. I chase it back and forth across the yard. It makes the grass shorter. The design needs some work...
The handle is fixed to the rear of the mower (works for gas and battery) however, the handle should be attached to the deck at its mid-point (approx. where the side discharge chute cover is located) and should pivot front to back to eliminate stepping on or tripping over the cord when changing directions. It also needs to mulch better, the factory blade does a poor job of mulching
I came to the site to see if there was a mulching specific blade for my MO13B00. My municipality is eliminating grass clipping pick up at the curb. Mulching makes for less work and a shorter time behind the mower. Let's see how frustrating it will be to find a better blade
Yes, I recommend this product.

Poor Motor Brushes, the replacement are unavailable
a year ago
The quality of the lawn mower motor brushes is poor; one side of the carbon brush wear out prematurely, but the other side used only 10%. The replacement of the carbon brushes are sold out lon times ago. So the mower becomes useless.

GreenWorksTools
Hello bobbb101,
We're terribly sorry to hear of your experience with your new Greenworks mower unit. The most common issue related to this is an incorrect gauge size or a power source that is shared with other large appliances. We advise reviewing your manual and ensuring the cord is the correct size and the power source that extension cord connects to is not shared with any other large appliances. An undersize extension cord will cause performance issues. If you feel you have the correct size extension cord that fit the recommendation in the manual and are still experiencing issues, please contact us at 1-888-909-6757 or through chat direct on our for further assistance. We're here to help.

Q: Is the extension cord included with the mower; and how long is it?
3 Answers
A: not sure if the cord is included, it was not when I bought mine 4 yrs ago. However, for a 100 ft cord you MUST have a #12 gauge cord, not smaller. #14 is smaller. Otherwise you will eventually burn out the motor. I've done the calc's, I'm an electrician. The manual states this, and it is correct. These cords often go on sale @ Cdn Tire, and this is quite an expensive cord, but it can be used for other things also, and the sales are often very good discounts.

Q: what size of extension cord is needed to run the 21 in, 13A
11 years ago
3 Answers
A: see my reply on other questions. #12 gauge for 100 feet. Never use #14 or #16 cord with the 13 amp mower. For the 16 amp mower I would use a #14 cord of 50 or 100 ft. Else you will burn out the motor. I ran the calc's, I'm an electrician.

Q: What kind of extension cord should I purchase for this electric lawmower to ensure I get enough power?
3 Answers
A: I'm surprised that Canadian Tire answered this question incorrectly, quoting from the manual. If the manuals says this, for a 13 amp motor, then the manual is wrong, however my manual for 2013 did not say this. As per my previous comments, you MUST use #12 gauge cord. Anything less will burn out the motor. This is as per the manual (2013). I'm an electrician, and I've done the calculations. If you have the smaller amp motor, then I'd use no less than a #14 gauge cord up to 100 ft. Never use #16.

Q: Is this powerful enough to cut tall grass over 8 inches 20 cm?
I haven't cut my grass in a while and its gotten really long so would if this electric mower would be powerful enough to mow grass over 8 inches / 20 cm's without burning out the motor. Or would I be better to use a gas mower?

A: I think not, if this is full thick grass. See my review for more info.

Q: if mower require repair under warranty(up to 4 years)do I have to ship mower to US or Canadian Tire will take care of it?

A: Be sure to call the toll free number and ask about the nearest repair centre before buying. Despite them having repair centres "all across Canada", the nearest for me was 115km away. And I live in a city, not in the middle of nowhere.

Q: replacement blade
you suggested replacement blade as item number is 60-7119-4. However this is 20" blade and mower says 21"? why somebody will buy 21" mower if he has to use 20" replacement blade in future
11 years ago
2 Answers
A: If the blade was 21" it could not turn within the housing. They use a 20" blade to allow for a 1/2" space on each end of the blade which gives you a 21" cut.
