The heavy-duty tape is made with a specially formulated backing for extreme durability. This premium utility tape seals out moisture yet remains flexible to conform to curved surfaces. A: I have some terrible windows with poorly built screens. So yes it works great to hold a broken screen in. About residue, it's about the same as any adhesive tape.

Q: Can I use this Gorilla clear tape to repair a small tear (1inch x 5 inch) on the arm of a leather sofa ? Is it a glossy tape? Any other downside other than the patch look?

A: I would say it's shinier than the leather but it would certainly stick. Maybe a tiny bit thick? But super strong and transparent which is good. Doesn't help you much but it held the cowling on my car all winter
