Q: WILL THIS WORK TO ATTACH HEATNG WIRE TO SLATE?

A: It can attach heating wire to slate, but not recommended the heat can and will diminish the effect of the glue which in turn will dry up, making the tape dry up too and could lead to create an hazard. Electrical tape would be more safe.

Q: would this work to tape a tear on pool solar cover

A: Yes - but - I have used it on similar repairs. Take isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) and clean the area really well first. This will also drastically improve adhesion not just due to it being cleaner, but becasue the alcohol actually provides a temporary change to the molecular structure of the pool cover plastic to further promote bonding.
