Poor functionality of safety latch

This knife would have a much higher rating if the lock at the base of the handle was easier to open and close when the knife is in the open position. Something that is supposed to make the knife safer actually creates a significant safety hazard by increasing the possibility of cutting yourself while trying to open or close the latch due to the amount of pressure needed to operate it. It is a poor design as far as safety is concerned as there are better options that could have been used for the lock. Maybe as the knife is used more it will work better, but there should never be a break in period needed for a safety feature to work smoothly. Also, because of the gap between the split handle you feel a lot of vibration in your hand when chopping with this knife so I would only recommend ot for minimal amounts of chopping. The blade of the knife is good and cuts well.

It takes a minute to figure out the quad lock safety feature. Once you open and close a few times it's great. Nice and hefty for chopping and hacking. Great fit into the bag not a 3 foot blade!
