Mostly resembles an expensive paperweight.

Bought this about a year and a half ago. Didn't get around to setting it up until about 6 months ago. There is .8 hours use on the meter. The light I plugged in when I set it up lit up. That's the last time it produced power. Now, nothing.
Then, it wouldn't start, so I changed the gas, thinking maybe I did not put in enough stabilizer.(I did, but I gave that a shot anyway.) Still nothing. We are senior citizens and we need the backup generator to function when required.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Used it to power 2 campers on the weekend. We didn't use the a/c but it didn't use much gas either. wish it was a little quietter. There must be something that can be done in this day and age.
Overall, it's a great unit.

This generator works quite well. Enjoy the electric start feature. Only drawback is the battery does not charge by the generator. It does not charge while running. The battery charger is a separate item which plugs into the generator at one end and must be attached to a convention power outlet at the other. There is no gauge to determine the amount of charge left in the battery. I would be unhappy to arrive at the cottage on a cold winter night only to find a dead battery. Seems to me that Generac, which has such a strong reputation in the generator industry, cut a few corners with this unit.

A: Yes it has electric start, but the generator does not charge the battery when running the same way a car does. You must plug in the included "plug in charger" occasionally to maintain the charge. (Plug it into the generator itself when you run it up monthly)

Q: I purchased the 7500w model at CTC. ! ltr of oil did not fill the sump to the high oil mark, barley above the add oil mark. Also no where in the instructions does it tell what oil grade to use???? Someone asleep at the wheel?

A: This unit comes with a bottle of oil in the box for first use. This one liter of oil is perfect for one fill. While 10W-30 is the standard, the recommended oil grades are below in the manual: In addition – you can call our customer team at 888-GENERAC 24/7/365 staffed here in WI with questions on the generator. This unit also comes with a 3 year warranty.
