The Flame King 20LB propane cylinder comes with an overflow protection device valve & a built-in gauge. Never again will you have to worry about running out of propane with the built-in gas meter gauge that provides accurate gas level readings. This tank is pre-purged vacuum ready for filling of propane avoiding you the cost and headache of purging your new tank. It is built from high grade welded steel and powder coated for rust prevention. For your safety, your tank comes with an OPD valve to prevent overfilling as well as x-ray and hydrostatic tested.

Tank that i bought from Canadian tire is already 1 1/2 years old , didn't realize when we picked it up new that it was that old ,so now my new tank is only good for 8 1/2 years in stead of ten

I got this as my second tank. I keep two in case one empties while cooking I can do a quick switchover. The capacity gauge on this one will let me know when I am getting close to empty. The other one just emptied when I started a burner then ran out 4 seconds later.

A: Shop around and compare prices. It will vary from one supplier to another. Exchange suppliers are more expensive than gas stations that provide refilling.

A: Most LP tanks fit most grills. If you need a smaller LP "bottle" that fits right in the BBQ, this tank will not fit that application. Before you buy check to see if the BBQ uses a liquid propane bottle or a 20 lb tank.

A: Most new LP tanks come empty. You can purchase exchange tanks at certain suppliers that come filled.

A: I believe the gauge uses pressure as it fits into a hole on the side of the shut off valve stem. It's nice and tidy but a little difficult to see looking down.

Q: Why is the propane not getting to my BBQ I had to buy a new tank because my old one expired. I can hook it up to both my new bbq and my old one , there is no propane getting to the bbq. There is propane in the tank. The hose that goes to my camping stove does not fit

A: May be the regulator. Try this: CLOSE the BBQ tank valve Connect the tank to the regulator and hose. Disconnect the hose at the BBQ ENSURE NO OPEN FLAME IN THE AREA VERY slowly open the valve on the tank. If you hear a hissing / smell gas, then the tank's valve, the regulator and the hose are OK. It may be a plugged inlet in the BBQ's or spider nests in the BBQ's vents...use a vent cleaner kit and follow instructions. If you DO NOT hear a hissing of gas / no propane smell, then it is either the valve on the tank or the regulator. To determine if it is the tank's valve, close the tank valve, and SLOWLY unthread the black valve connector. You should hear a very short hiss and smell propane very briefly. If you do, then it is the regulator. If you do not, it is the valve on the tank. Based on the above: (1# Return the tank #2) Purchase new regulator and hose.

A: In Ontario, they only fill tanks to approximately 80% by weight...transportation law. NEVER transport a tank on the side. NEVER transport in a trunk / hot car; leave windows open... If you use your BBQ a lot and refill / transport the tank often, you should consider getting a base for the tank - black ring that snaps on and off the bottom of the tank to keep it upright. Haven't seen it at CTC, but other places sell them for less than $10.00.
