Awful

Purchased intending on refinishing a 1950's table top radio phonograph that had been painted at some time in it's life. Took all day to do a very mediocre job on the cabinet, excluding the lid as I simply gave up.
Left the product on for as much as an hour - applying more as needed to keep it wet. Totally ineffective and a fight all the way. Equally bad once I reached the original finish. Will do it all over again, and take care of the lid with a better product. Sometimes you need nasty chemicals to do nasty jobs.

Please note for best results you must follow directions carefully. Here are some helpful tips when using our removal products: 1. EZ Strip removal products are water based and stop working if they dry out. Avoid direct sunlight and cover treated surface with painters plastic to keep product wet and working during longer set times. 2. Set times will vary, EZ Strip will not damage recommended substrates being stripped so let the product do the work for you. Leave the treated surface for as long as needed for coating to soften for removal. 3. For best removal results use recommended removal tools ideal for the surface you are stripping. 4. EZ Strip is very effective at removing antique finishes and you will notice wood stain colors will lift after scraping during the scrub with water step.

Poor paint & varnish remover

I bought this EZ Paint & Varnish Stripper last week. Today I have time use it and hopefully that varnish on my old violin can be removed completely. But I was disappointed after applying this product on to the varnish and found there was still a sticky layer on the surface of the violin and I needed to use another paint removing product to wipe it off.

A: If it is the factory finish then mostly likely not. This product is not designed to remove baked on or UV hardened coatings.

A: No. Powder coated surfaces are generally much more durable and resistant to paint stripping chemicals. Most commercially available paint strippers will not strip powder coat from metal.
