I’ve owned this kayak for two summers and the rate that it is falling apart is very dissapointing. The hatch locks broke, and weren’t waterproof from the start, the seat falls apart, the foam separating the cockpit from the rear storage blew out on the roof of my vehicle. Spend your money on something else.

Really Stable

Only 2 rides in (2 hours+ each) and I can say it tracks really well for a 12 footer, maneuverability is medium in general and a bit sluggish on top speed but makes it all up with a ton of stability. Ton of great options not even mentioned in the description (the rear hatch is a sealed bulk head!). I love the ample space under the hood too, but the major point for me is stability like a juggernaut. I'm 5'11" and 260 lbs, it carried me perfectly upwind (24 km/h), up the choppy current and through boat wakes and back. Felt like an SUV.

searched for years for a kayak like this. Good for fishing. Sturdy and a nice smooth ride. Glides through the water with ease and easy to use. A bit heavy but not horrible.

Q: I bought the Evoke Algonquin Kayak, 2 months ago, noticed a large indent in the middle of the bottom and thought it would come out, it hasn't? Is this part of the manufacturing or a fault in my kayak, it's been there since I got it?

  • A: I don't understand why there would be an indent on the underside of your Evoke Algonquin kayak. A few pictures might help. The kayak does have a wide bottom area; however, it does flex a bit during rock contact and mine does maintain it's normal shape.
