EGO mower is a great product

Love the mower…. it is quiet, lightweight, clean with no gas and oil, the mulching works well, and the battery lasts more than I need for a single lawn cutting. A huge benefit is how compact it is, folding up to fit in the garage about the size of a large suitcase.

Q: Is it OK to store the mower in an unheated garage for the winter? Should the charger and battery be brought inside for the winter here in Niagara Falls, Ontario? Should I recharge the battery over the winter even though I will not use it until the spring?

A: I store my mower in an unheated shed over the winter and there are no problems the following Spring. (I am in the same climate zone as you). The battery and charger are always kept in the house. After the final mow of the season, I charge the battery up one last time, then remove it from the charger and unplug the charger. Lithium batteries can hold a charge for a long time when not being used. The battery may need to be topped up before the first mow of the season, but generally it should be fine. It depends on the age of the battery and the number of charging cycles it has been through. (e.g. a battery that is afew years old or more may not hold a charge as long as a battery that is newer).
