Finally made the change!

After using my craftsman for 7 years, I decided I was done with gas. The ego model cuts very well & easy to use. My only negative is the mower is heavier than the gas mower. I'm a 70 year kupuna on Hawaii, so I have to take more breaks.

Great performance and service

My original mower lost one of the screws that held the rear axle bearing in place. That allowed the axle to drop and ultimately broke an unrepairable part in the height control linkage. EGO promptly replaced mower under warranty, which was wonderful! I have been very pleased with the mower’s performance. I have a thick fescue yard that I cut 4” high. The mower does a great job mulching the clippings, so I do not need to rake or bag them. One small issue I had was that the mower did not cut level. The mower is so light that the front wheels ride up on a “bow wave” of uncut grass, like a boat moving through the water. I solved the problem by simply tying a brick to the handle at the front of the mower deck. The added weight holds the front wheels down, so I get a level cut!

Great Mower, good by gas

Have just used the mower twice. Works great. Mostly picking up leaves and cutting a small amount of grass due to the grass growing season about over in NC. The mower is very light and quiet. I don't use the self propelled set up due to the mower being lightweight and very easy to push. I have about 1/2 acre to cut and the 10 amp battery still has power left over when finished. Love the bagger which holds a lot of leaves and grass.

Q: What is the cost for a second battery

  • A: We did not  buy a second battery. We could cut our front and back yard and still have 70% of battery life left. We feel that there is no need for a second battery.
