Although it does clean well, I find it very heavy; the hose does not stretch well and pulls the vacuum when trying to use the hose with attachments.

Hello there,

Thank you for your review. It is excellent to hear that you are pleased with the cleaning ability of your DC29 Absolute. However, if weight is a concern, a full size upright may not be the best fit for your needs.

Dyson also offers compact upright models that feature a more lightweight and portable design for households where space is at a premium. The DC29 is a full size upright that features among the most suction power of any upright model we offer. In order to generate this extra power, the motor is a bit larger and will add to the overall weight of the machine.

In regard to the hose, if you are experiencing difficulty you may find it useful to do a pre-stretch of the hose prior to use. The hose coils as a defense mechanism to ensure maximum longevity. By pre-stretching the hose it will lessen the frequency of coiling during use.

Plus - Vacuums really well, love no bags. Negative - Heavy, attachments are hard to use and the hose does not extend easily making it really hard to use for anything other then normal vacuuming.

This vacuum was only good for the first two years. By the third year the vacuum was louder then my shop vacuum (even after cleaning the filters regularly), plus the plastic hose (where it detatches so you can hand vacuum) ripped apart.
