Wife had a code P0420 injector circuit 4 open , catalyst below threshold, catalyst system bank... thought 02 sensor injector or catalyst.... Ran this product half tank premium for 80k and filled up Code cleared by itself half tank later.

Q: I added to my gas tank should the check engine light go away by itself or do I have to take my car to a mechanic to clear the code?

A: Hi Drew, thank you for your question. Please note that sometimes the light will go away on it’s own after using and driving the vehicle for 30-45 minutes. Sometimes a second treatment will also take the light off. Every vehicle sensor varies and so does the extent that the catalytic converter is clogged or clogging. Regular use of Dura Lube Severe Catalytic & Exhaust will extend the converter life, however sometimes vehicle owners wait too long to use the product and the converter is too far clogged. You can also reset the light with an OBD II sensor or with a mechanic and that may keep the light off for a period of time.

Q: I used a bottle of dura lube catalytic cleaner and the engine light turned off. The light just came back on after two weeks. Can I add another bottle or is it too soon?

A: I would say Yes..You could use this to help with your Problem. I used it on my 2004 toyota corrola , as i had the check engine light on..It was for the dirty converter.. I did use this twice..and the car runs smoother.

A: That was the same catalytic converter code that I was receiving. Yes it did stop the code for a short period of time (ie. a little over a 1000 km). Then the effects wore off and the P0430 (catalytic converter working below threshold) returned.

Q: Can this with used on a Snowblower Engine ?

A: Snowblowers do not have Catalytic convertors so you would probably be wasting your money. Use another fuel additive (e.g. STP, Motomaster) to clean the fuel system in your snowblower.

A: Short answer is yes... but I doubt it will do anything if you have any codes pertaining to bad cats... it didn't do anything for me & I followed the directions to the "T".

Q: It says to use before replacing your catalytic converter. Can you use it without changing the catalytic converter and get good results? I have a p0420 code.
