    Snapped After a Few Uses

Not worth the price. I used this bit to make a few curves on some cedar boards and it snapped in half. Used for maybe a total of two hours over a three month period. Not willing to pay to buy another one just so it can probably snap as well.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Pricey, but it does the job...

The bits for the Dremel Trios are hard to find, so I was glad to see them available at my local Canadian Tire. They can be used to make plunge cuts and then make straight cuts. According to Dremel, the bits can quickly work through woods (hard and soft), drywall, laminate, plastic, vinyl siding, fiberglass, thin aluminum, and mild steel up to 22 gauge. I've used this blade in my Trios on soft woods, laminate flooring, vinyl siding, and a piece of scrap aluminum siding. You can make clean plunge cuts with this blade in softwoods like pine and then make linear cuts. I find it hard to keep the bit going in a straight line, even when I used a guide. (The turning of the bit seems to want to pull the Trios into a curve.) The cuts are clean though and require minimal sanding. Cuts are slow compared to using a jigsaw to make the same cut. The bit is steel, so it wore down fast in wood even in pine compared to a cheap HSS jigsaw blade. I had the same experience after using the Trios and this bit to cut vent slots in some laminate flooring we installed. It can the job, but a jigsaw is faster. I also used the Trios with this bit to make a hole in some drywall to install an electrical box. The bit made fast work of the drywall and it made a clean cut without making a lot of dust. The Trios with one of these bits would make a good replacement for a Rotozip. I wanted to add a new outside power plug for using power tool outside. This involved cutting through the vinyl siding. This is where I found the Trios great. It made quick work of the vinyl siding and it was quick to cut the hole of the right size. Oddly, even though I was working vertically, I found the Trios easier to control than when working horizontally. The spinning bit had no tendency to veer off the straight line. The cutter bits work as advertised, but they don't last as long as you'd expect for the price you pay. In some cases, a dedicated power tool like a jigsaw can do the job much better and quicker than the Trios.

    Yes, I recommend this product.
