Opted for this dremel saw instead of an angle grinder to cut 12x24 floor tiles. Worked great for the job

The tool works very well but for cutting sheet metal you will need much better grade of cutting discs.The ones supplied with it do not last very long.Overall it did the job I needed it for.

Not made for any heavy work

Purchased this saw kit (included case, extra blades & cutting guide) on sale with a price match + bonus. At that cost, I could not resist. Strong motor, no lack of power. But the blades do not handle that much power very well. They become very brittle when going from warm to hot (friction heats them up quickly). The extra blades are just about enough to practice using the saw without them breaking from heat build up. And that is very easy. Did not find this information from any review but I wished there had been something to warn about this "Achilles' heel". Add this to the cost of the blades (3 1/2 inch blades have a spotty inventory at the stores that sell the kits) and it becomes an expensive tool to use. Better built for projects such as model building or using on very light material. It is a good tool. It just is not capable of performing those jobs expected of a rotary saw without costing a lot because of replacing blades.

Motor burn out

I've had this just over a year and already the motor has burnt out. It has only been used on 3 small jobs a) cutting a hole in the back of a sink cabinet, b) cutting an edge trim from one side of same cabinet, c) cutting a jog from a piece of wood plank flooring to go round a heating vent. On all projects the machine got so hot that I had to give it a 30 minute rest each time to cool down. On the last project it finally burnt out with a bang in my hand. In each case the saw blade was new, and the wood no thicker than half an inch. The lock was not on. I'm unhappy that this happened just outside the warranty period.
