I bought 20 packs of these lights within the last 4 years and I am lucky if I can get one season out of them. I would not recommend to anyone looking for Reliable long-lasting light

Q: How come the light turns on when I push the button but not when it gets dark or I cover the top?

A: Hello the lights will turn on automatically at night. If you leave it on during the day it will not turn on. At night it will turn on. When you cover the top and it is on the solar panel believes it is night because there is no light penetrating the panel. This it turns on when you cover the top.
