Decomposing fenders

My boat is 6 years old. My first set of fenders lasted 4 years. I replaced them with these and after 2 years they decomposed and became sticky and made a mess of the hull.

Worked fine and minimal use for two years.

Minimal use through out the 2022 and 2023 season. Not saying these things are bad, other one I bought is fine. Just be aware. Once you pay for it, you own the fender and you own the problem. Existing attached line was left on for winter, unit just cracked and CT will not do anything to replace or even discount a new one. Purchasing 4 new brandname units on line now for $124.00 including lines.

Great size to protect our pontoon at the rear and front from the dock area. Smaller one wasn’t absorbing the impact of the wave when very windy.

Bought several of these about 5-7 years ago in var sizes and have been very pleased with them. Nice balance of softness to absorb impact, and stiffness to prevent contact between the hull/dock when blown together or hit by waves. They do stain from algae (or mold if stored below-decks for months at a time), but so will any other brand. If appearances are really important, buy a washable fender cover/sock to slip over it.
