Cuts slow at first due to what seems like a hard protective edge

The first few cuts were horable. It seems to have a hard protective edge that needs to ware off. This took about 8 cuts on 2x1x1/8 wall tube but after that it cuts great. It strips heat well and cuts fast if you dont use too much pressure. Even on the 2inch flat and about 20 to 30 pounds of pressure it didnt overheat the pice cutting fast and stright.
