Don’t waste your time

These are not the same grinders as the previous generations! The eye guards are cheap and break quickly and easily as well as the grinder vibrates badly! Dewalt doesn’t want to fix their issues so it seems it will be returned!

Vibration problem

I purchased this grinder to replace a grinder that is 40 years old and finally died. This grinder vibrates so bad you cannot keep the eye shields from vibrating down into the grinding wheel. The stones run true with no wobble or out of round. I removed the course stone on the right side and the grinder is smooth with just the left stone on the grinder. I assume the problem is with the balance of the stone. I will have to contact the retailer for warranty. I have every 20 volt DeWalt tool known to man with no problems.

Wheels out of balance

Just bought this bench grinder last week. First thing after mounting turned it in and the vibration shook paint can off the shelf beside the grinder also missing one star washer. The other problem is the left tool right side is setting almost on the grinding wheel itself. I had to use two small washers behind the mount to make room for the wheel. This is not what I expected from Dewalt. T took some measurements and the left grinding wheel is sitting .125 closer to the motor that the right side. If Dewalt can repair this bench grinder I would give it 5 stars.

Powerful but vibrates a lot

Just purchased this 8'' Dewalt for the powerful motor but man has it got a vibration. Not sure if the shaft is bent or the wheels are out of balance. Either way, it's not good. Should have paid attention to the online reviews but I thought, maybe the box was damaged. This box looked like it had been handled properly so it was boxed at the factory defective. Probably going to return and get my money back, 40 miles back to the store. Not happy Dewalt!

Be carefull

I bought it yesterday and replaced it today Both are very noisy and make a lot of vibration. On both of them left bearing sounds like an airplane taking off. right side bearing were ok. I'm a mechanic and work a lot with electric motors . So I know how bad bearing sound like. Many of my friend has a 8" Dewalt bench grinder with no problems for many years . They work great. So what's wrong with Dewalt ??? Or I'm just unlucky one . Will be returning it back to the store .
