Tool needs a Dust Collector

The tool itself is great. It should have had a dust collector in the box or the shape should have been a standard shape (round). I took two stars because wood dust is a fire and physical hazard. The hand planer should include said attachment.

I'm replacing my trusty corded planer. My complaint is the sole has a milled surface adds lots of texture to the surface that should glide on the wood. I see no reason for this and the curved striations both increase friction and also deflect the planer as they go at an angle to the direction of travel. The only tools in my shop that have like this are surfaces that are designed to create friction. The sole should be smooth. I've become a "Team Yellow" with a shop full of dewalt tools. This base really is a problem.
