Q: Difference between this and the one in the combo package Please explain the difference between this drill and the one that is in the 20 volt combo package that includes the 1/4 inch impact gun.

A: The 54-3178 is a Hammer Drill / Driver, the unit that is in the combo kit is only a Drill / Driver. Additionally, the 54-3178 Hammer Drill / Driver has a Brushless motor system which is more efficient than the brushed motor Drill / Driver.
