DCA1820 adapter drains 20V batteries ! :-(

The DCA1820 adapter is draining my 20V batteries overnight and the adapter is VERY difficult to remove from my 18V tools. What do you propose as a soluton / compensation of these sub-standard adapters that I purchased ?

Poor design

Bought to use in my old nicad tools to use with my new lithium batteries and product is horrible. Can’t get it to release from tool and now stuck with it on my drill. I have a whole line of DeWalt tools and it seems like they want you to buy an adapter for each tool. Poor design. Would give negative stars if I could. Hopefully DeWalt takes this into consideration and do something about it

Designed By Someone Who Doesn't Use Tools

2 stars because it works. I can't give it any more because of how difficult it is to remove. You are forced to purchase this or all of your 18V tools will be useless. I am a man with man hands and can't get it off without 2 flathead screwdrivers and some cussing. This is poorly designed for quick removal between tools.

  • A: No. DEWALT batteries are proprietary to the DEWALT system & will not with any other brand.
