Heating element broke on the original AND replaced
a year ago
Did not get one pot of drip coffee out of this machine OR the replacement machine they sent. Heating element and hence the drip coffee on both machines broke after doing descaling once. Do NOT buy this machine. Totally put us off buying delonghi products as well.

Q: Why does it always leak when I use the left part of the BCO430 coffee maker? The water tray received 1/4-3/4 of its maximum capacity after a cup of coffee had been made. By the way, I returned the first one and then got the second one, also leaking!!!

A: Hi Judy, this Combination Espresso Machine has a cone-shaped filter and includes a gold-tones filter with purchase. This unit takes, pods, as well as ground coffee, however; this unit does not use whole coffee beans. Thank you.

Q: Do I need to use special pods for the expresso side of this machine, or can I use bulk coffee or beans?

A: Hello John, The use of pods is not necessary. You can use any coffee you prefer, but we recommend finely ground ("espresso ground") coffee for the espresso side for best results. If you're purchasing pre-ground coffee from the store, look for "espresso" on the label which should ensure it is finely ground. Due to the nature of the espresso brewing method, a regular medium-ground coffee typically used for drip coffee makers will produce under-extracted, watered-down results for espresso. If grinding whole beans at home, grind them to a fine powder-like consistency to brew authentic espresso. The machine can also be used with E.S.E. (Easy Serve Espresso) pods if you choose, but this is not required. Hopefully this helps! Thank you, De'Longhi Customer Care
