Based on your description of the product's "lumpy" texture, it would appear that you may have purchased material that was aged/beyond its normal shelf life (newly purchased may not necessarily be of recent manufacture). With respect to your commentary indicating "I could lot find a date", the code date stamp on the package should indicate: "PYYDDD-S HH:MM". P = Plant of Manufacture, YY = Year, DDD = Julian Day (Day of Year), S = Shift, HH:MM = Time Stamp in UTC "Military Time". This was my first experience using this premium flexible caulk and I am very pleased with the performance of the product. I filled small, medium and larger gaps in doors, sliding doors, windows and areas around the entries for my HVAC systems and all my house vents. I was having trepidations making use of a clear caulk over the older caulking however, I was still pleased with the results which was most important and white would have popped too much making it very visible. Adding clear helped to keep the area looking more blended. Although the product smells quite a bit, it will dissipate in a few hours at most. Super clear, easy to use and my new fave!

All of DAP's various sized "cartridge" formulas should only require moderate hand squeezing action for application (when using a good quality caulking gun). Based on your commentary, it would appear that you may have purchased aged product (newly purchased may not necessarily be of recent manufacture). As the product ages, it will thicken to the point of becoming difficult or impractical to use. At your convenience, please contact DAP's Technical Customer Service Department at 888-327-8477 so that we can obtain some additional information from you. When calling, please be sure to have the package (cartridge) available, as we will need to verify the production code in order to determine the date of manufacture.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I used this to caulk my gutters. First thing I noticed was the little to no scent. It applied so easily, and has stood up through rain and shine outside. Easy to use and spread without a mess. Lots in package.

A: Did you clean it good and dry it out before you put it on it will be tacky for a bit two days that’s good the tackiness will go away in time
