DAP Plaster of Paris (as with all similar Plaster of Paris formulas) are designed for rapid setting. As indicated on the product package label: "Add DAP Plaster of Paris to clean water in a clean container mixing 2 parts powder to 1 part cold water (40°F to 50°F). Stir to a smooth consistency. Do not mix more material than can be used in 6 to 10 minutes. Discard any material that has begun to harden. As soon as the powder and water make contact, the product's chemical reaction begins. For this reason, the 6 - 10 minute working time referenced, includes the time required to mix the product for use. For repairs requiring a longer work time (over 6 - 10 minutes), we recommend the use of DAP Plaster Wall Patch. Should you require additional assistance or have any other questions, please contact DAP’s Technical Customer Service Department at 888-327-8477. DAP

A: I know a fair amount about different glues. I can't think of any that would have a lasting bond. Hot glue gun might be for something temporary. Or maybe coat with epoxy first and then glue whatever you want to that? Just an idea...

Q: Why does the products safety data sheets list "asbestiform or non-asbestiform tremolite" being a constituent in this product? Is this asbestos? This is very concerning. Could you confirm if this product contains asbestos.

Q: Can I mix it with acrylic paint before applying on craft project ?

A: Thank you for posting your inquiry. You can add (acrylic-latex/water-based) paint to Plaster of Paris to create “chalk paint”. Instructions, using: 1 part water, 1 part Plaster of Paris and 3 parts paint. Mix water and Plaster of Paris together until smooth, then add paint and mix well until smooth. Because plaster sets quickly, do not mix more material that can be used in 10 minutes. This process is only recommended for dry/interior application areas and areas where high durability is not required.
