Bad idea

The idea of a ceramic break is a stupid one it accumulates Greece and catches on fire later on the steel brackets holding it together fall apart so you have to replace it completely which we did after 1 year then internal components start rusting the top cooking great is garbage and needs to be replaced we had the barbecue for 8 years and replaced the cooking grades twice
No, I do not recommend this product.

In terms of caring for the cooking grates, I've included care and maintenance tips below to get the most longevity of your grill.
• Always protect cooking grates against RUST/ CORROSION, water, humidity, and moisture damage by following the seasoning steps outlined below.
• Prior to preheating the BBQ, remove all build up from cooking grates using a grill brush.
• Prep cooking grates with a light coating of vegetable shortening or cooking oil.
How to season Porcelain Cast Iron Cooking Grates
1. Remove cooking grates from BBQ and brush away all loose, or chipping porcelain and grease build-up, using a BBQ brush
2. Wash cooking grates with soap and water.
3. Rinse and dry thoroughly with paper towels.
Important: Never soak or let soapy water sit on the grates for any length of time.
4. Coat entire cooking grate, top, bottom, sides and each rod with vegetable shortening. DO NOT use salted fat such as margarine, butter, or any non-stick cooking spray. Do not use olive oil as it burns off at high temperatures.
5. Place cooking grates in either your conventional oven, on a cookie sheet, or in your BBQ for up to 20 minutes at 250-300 to complete the seasoning process. Time may vary depending on cooking appliance.
6. Once completed, the cooking grates must be allowed to cool down before use.

Disappointed - uneven heat

It's a nice looking design but the heat distribution was very poor. The ceramic plates seem to block the heat from the burners rather than distribute it. After the 3 hours of assembly, a definite disappointment.
Canadian Tire floor manager was accommodating and took the BBQ back.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Decent BBQ when on sale

B ought the NG version. It is a good size for up to a dozen or so guests; you can fit 4-6 average sized medallion steaks on each of the 3 grates. It also heats up very quickly and distributes pretty evenly. Keep an eye out for flareups though because the porcelain plates are pretty close to the grates and will ignite any fat that drips on to them.
One unexpected benefit is that it is essentially an indirect heat BBQ which means you don't need to maintain a cold side for BBQ/roasting, just turn down the heat and you can use the full surface area to slow cook your steaks after searing them.

Exceeds expectations

Bought this grill for second home in Calgary, did not want to spend the $3500 as we Had at our primary residence. This grill exceeded all expectations and is as good as any product out there at twice the price. Experienced griller here, use on average 8-9 times a week, even in the cold.
