Cub Cadet 2X® 26-in IntelliPOWER® Snow Blower

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this unit in November of 2018. It does an excellent job of clearing my driveway. Handles deep snow well and throws the snow really well. also. It has really good traction with the tires it came with. I don't need chains. Electric start works great, but I find I only need it for the first start of the year. Otherwise, it starts with the first pull of the starter rope, which I really like. It does a great job for me. No negatives.

Went to use it for just the third time since I bought it last Nov. As instructed, I drained the gas last year while running marine stabilizer in it. Filled it up this morning to use, and tried everything and it will not start. Wasted my money - should not need repair after only three uses. Extremely disappointed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I appreciate how easy the engine starts, usually on the first or second pull.

I bought this not quite a year ago. The reason I bought a Cub Cadet is because I thought I would have a service and parts store close by. Turns out a month after I bought this the place closed up their service shop and then stopped stocking parts. Sort of a bummer but, we can work around that. The first thing I ran into was the auger would not shut off. After doing some investigating I found the auger pulley was severely bent and wobbling. (So I thought) The fortunate thing about the timing on this discovery is it pretty much was the last snow of the season. I loaded it up and took it to the service center nearest me which is 18 miles away. It turns out the gear box shaft was bent. Not sure how that could happen but, it was bent. I mention the service shop because they did a great job. Had machine back in a couple of weeks. Broke it out this year and off to the races we go. I wish I could make my rating between 3 and 4. 3 is not quite fair. It does a pretty good job. In wet snow the best it is going to through it is about 15 feet. Dryer snow it will through into the next county. From a performance stand point and price point we can say it is decent. I agree with some of the comments on location of the controls but, I knew what I was buying so I can't complain about that. One feature that I like very well is this thing has a 3 position throttle. When you start it you can actually knock it down to idle and let the engine warm up. I mention this because I believe I pooched the engine on the last blower I had because I did not give it more time to warm up. The build quality on this pretty good (with the exception of the bent auger shaft) and the fact you can turn this is very helpful for me. I have bad elbows so being able to control turns is big. As I said for the price point this is a good (wish I could say great) buy. Word of encouragement here. With a little more attention to detail you folks at Cub Cadet could have a game changer here.
