Essential Maintenance Oil for Airguns

The Crosman® Pellgun Lubricating Oil is a must-have for keeping CO2 and pneumatic airguns in top condition. It helps maintain seals, prevents leaks, and extends the life of your equipment. Easy to apply and long-lasting, just a drop on CO2 cartridges or key points keeps everything running smoothly. An inexpensive but highly effective product for reliable airgun maintenance.

Spills

It's a great product. I have two tubes here. One is always vertical. The cap threads are too few, it will spill, after 3-4 uses. Especially if you accidentally overtwist. It rips the threads and it spills. It's a mighty fine lubricator for my Red Ryder (All Weather Edition) Inside and out. Makes a really big mess if you have ripped a thread and leave it on it's side. I would pay a dollar or 2 more for a proper cap. TLDR: Needs a METAL SCREW CAP. Plastic is weak and leads to spills, there aren't enough threads, extend the tube top length. Or a total packaging overhaul.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: How do i put it on? or where? Where do i put it on the co2 cartridge?

  • A: The owners manual for your specific gun will have this information. I f you do not have the manual search online I found many forums and links to online owners manuals and just plain old common sense info on dos and donts for your airgun

Q: Why can't this product be used on break barrel rifles ? What do you sell that can be used on break barrel rifles ?

  • A: It is not recommended for break barrel rifles, however almost every break barrel canadian tire sells says "if a loss of power occurs treat with gun oil 075-5440", so I typed in 075-5440 in the search box and there it was, pellgunoil. My crosman owners manual recommends crosman rmcoil which I could not find on the canadian tire site, I checked the airgun forum and saw many different answers. Here is what I use and recommend, hypoid gear oil for differentials, it is thicker than most lubricants except grease (better chamber seal), It has extreme pressure properties = more slippery (perfect for the cocking pivot points), and it is contact with differential seals which are usually neoprene. Sure the gun will "diesel" after lubricating, just like it did when you first used it, and If used sparingly I see no problem. I am not sure why rmcoil is not included with the airgun.

Q: Does this fix the problem i have? I bought the gun off a friend and got some canisters but all the air goes out when i insert it.

  • A: The pelgun oil may or may not fix the problem. Your friend may have left the gun too long and the seals are likely dried out or cracked. It may need new seals from a Crossman Service Depot.

Q: If you can't use this product with break barrel guns, why in the crosman 795 springmaster manual does it say you can? It just says to not use alot.

  • A: I believe. the old adage a little goes along way applies. Even on CO2 guns you use a drop every 2 or 3 cartridges. Which can be several hundred shots between applications. Too much oil will gum up the mechanism and will burn or damage the seals as in "dieseling" which you do not want.
