Awsome Tent. Just one thing would make it perfect.

I’ve used one of these tents for over 10 years. As far as the tent itself I have no complaints. It’s been durable and fairly easy to set up especially given practice. My one request is that it be made available with darkroom technology.

Family of 6 and a big dog!

This tent was perfect! It does require a large flat area, with its rectangular shape. We were able to have 4 twin air mattresses and 2 smaller single person air mats, and still had a large space to enter the tent in the middle. The tent has strong poles, which make the overall carrying weight of the tent heavier, compared to tents with the thin fiberglass poles. This tent has good airflow. I don't love that it has doors on both sides (seems unnecessary), but it doesn't really matter- since we only used one. We are very happy with the purchase and know set-up will be faster, the next time we camp, now thart we have done it once.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Second Coleman tent in a row that broke on 1st use

These tens are expensive. The first time I used it was just after the one year warranty and the pole broke trying to open it up. This is my second Colin intent in a row that a pool broke. Just trying to open it. I now have two broken tents in my garage that are essentially brand new and garbage. I sent in all the photos and told them that it was the first time use and it is not being covered because it is outside of the one year warranty.

Easily Broken Hinges

This tent was nice while it lasted, but today it broke. We were putting it away at the end of a camping trip and heard a snap and the middle hinges for the middle poles both broke. I took the hinges off to look at them and they don't look like quality products. The plastic looked like it just got brittle too easy and at least one of the screws were just threaded into plastic. I can't recommend this tent because of the hinges. They seem like they will fail too easily.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Should you seal/weatherproof this tent? Not even Coleman could tell me if they recommend weatherproofing the tent with a silicone sealer "Tent sealer". It does have weathertech which makes it "somewhat" waterproof. But not sure if I should take the precaution of sealing it further?

A: Hello! Thank you for your question. Please be advised that it is not necessary to apply any water proofing agent to your Coleman tent with WeatherTec. It is recommended that, with any tent, you set up your tent and mist lightly with water. This prepping will allow the fabric to swell, especially at the seams where there is stitching, to ensure waterproofing. The warranty is not void if the consumer uses water-proofing agents on a Coleman tent. However, it is important that one read the instructions on how to apply the waterproofing thoroughly to prevent any contamination of the tent fabric.

Q: How big is the centre room? The in-store sign for this tent described the centre room as a 'dining room'. Is it really that big? I really, really wanted to buy this tent last week when it was on sale but unfortunately it was out of stock at all my local Canadian Tire stores :(

Q: Is there a specific footprint for this tent? The store I purchased from was completely out of footprints, much less anything specific for this tent. Will a generic work for this one?

A: Hello! Thank you for your question. Please be advised that we don't carry these for all of our tents, but we do and did sell some previously. The floors of our tents are made from a strong polyethylene (1000D-140g/sqm which allows them to hold up against rough terrain. It is always recommended to clear out any debris before setting up your tent; however, if you like, you can purchase some heavy tarp material to use as a footprint for your tent. This will extend the life of your tent and make it easy to clean when taking down your campsite.

A: Hello! Thank you for your question. Please be advised that the entire roof is covered. There's a back window on the rear wall, which is nearly the same size as the front door. There are two smaller floor vents or windows for additional circulation.

A: Hello! Thank you for your question. Please be advised that the image you are seeing is a reflective Coleman logo. These are not lanterns. During photography, the flash of the camera most likely caused our logo to reflect the light giving it the appearance that it lit up.
