    First setup

I purchased this BBQ today, it was already assembled. I went to attach the propane tank to the regulator and it was defective, leaking gas, after inspecting the regulator it was assembled wrong, missing a spacer and a rubber gasket. CTC Gave me a new replacement and I am a happey BBQ'er, so far no problems, works great, just remember to season the grills before cooking, keeps food from sticking.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Excellent purchase

Bought this Coleman BBQ in December on sale, excited about purchase took two days to assembled but worth it. I enjoy BBQ in winter so this purchase was timely. Lots of pieces but followed manual patiently and put together nicely. At the end it looked quality hoping to keep this BBQ for long time, no more cheap BBQs decided to get quality this time around no regrets.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

i really like this BBQ the grates are the best part, you can cook anything on them, small holes dont allow small pieces to fall thru. be sure to season them properly had written a long detailed review but CT wont allow it for some reason. that is unfortunate.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Questions

    1 - 10 of 12 Questions

Q: Why is my BBQ different? I liked the timer that is on the front. I bought one, took it home, built it, and then realized it was a little different AND no timer. The model number is the same. Why is my BBQ different from the website and store model? That doesn't seem right.

    • A: Hello and thank you for your question. The timer was on the 2013 model of the Coleman NG Model of the 3-Burner. The 2014 version does not include a timer. The store had the 2013 model on the floor. No other changes have been made to this barbecue from 2013 to 2014.

Q: What cooking tools to use? What type of cooking utensils can be used with this BBQ? Will stainless steel spatulas scrape and damage the grates/grill??

    • A: I use a heavy duty stainless steal flipper and stainless steal tongs. After 3 years the ceramic coating did chip in a couple places but I'm not sure if it's from the utensils or because I always turn it to high heat to burn everything off.

Q: Compatible Rotisserie and grates seasoning! Recommend a compatible Rotisserie pls Will painting z grates with vegetable oil b4 preheating work instead of shortening? Explain how to season the grates with shortening? Will scraping burnt stuff off the grates with a metal brush damage it?

    1 Answer
    • A: Hello and thank you for your question. It is safe to use a brass-bristled brush on your cooking grates. Vegetable shortening like Crisco has the best results for seasoning because it is slower to burn off. To season your grates simply: 1. Start by removing your cooking grates from your Barbecue 2. Brush clean by removing any build-up on the surface using a brass bristled brush. Only clean when grates are cool. 3. Wash the grates with mild dish soap and water (first time use only). 4, Dry thoroughly – this is important to avoid further damages caused from moisture entering the cast iron. Then towel dry or let them sit in a very hot, sunny area to dry out quickly. 5. Using VEGETABLE SHORTENING – not butter, PAM, olive oil or any other oil that burns off quickly. Coat the entire cooking grate: front to back, every rod, corner and curve with vegetable shortening, ensuring that every groove or chipped area has been covered. 6. Once coated, put into your BBQ and turn to HI for 20 minutes. This process will bake the vegetable shortening into every groove on the surface of the cooking grates, including any chipping or cracking porcelain. 7. Turn off BBQ and let cooking grates cool before using.

Q: How long does a 20 lb gas cylinder last roughly for this bbq burner?

    1 Answer
    • A: Hello and thank you for your question. There is no definitive answer. The length of time your gas tank will last depends on how many burners you are using and on which setting, and the ambient temperature that day.
