This is a new purchase. So I can't review as to durability. However, I was pleased with how tight the battery compartments are, it will help keep inquisitive children out. Y grandchildren loved them, and ran around the house yelling through the radios at each other. Great start.

I bought these on a whim. They were on sale. THEY ARE EXCELLENT!! I use them when my kids are out on the water in the kayaks. They have a really good range for what we use them for. Each kid is assigned a colour and we keep one on the deck for home base. They are really clear and easy to use ages 5-13. I put them in the waterproof phone pouch and they still work amazing! The price was reasonable to! I would highly recommend these!!!

A: Nop they dont have a flashlight but they are made of steel and frequency response like really but really good signal capture and sent really good quality but make sure to get rechargable batt needs four battery each but long lasting

Q: Would spray painting the plastic part affect the transmitting much

A: Hello, A light coat of paint should not impact the performance of the radio as long as it in NON-METALIC. We would want to ensure that the holes for the microphone do not get filled and that the paint does not get into the connections, buttons, knobs, speaker, etc. as that would impact the performance of those parts. In addition, any modifications to the unit will also void warranty
