communication difficult

The overall quality of these radios is disappointing. The sound quality is very poor, making communication difficult. The range is nowhere near what is advertised—it only works at a very short distance. The buttons are too small, which makes them uncomfortable to use, and the material quality feels cheap and insufficient. Definitely not what I expected.

Used on a three vehicle road trip to keep in contact and worked great. We were travelling in a no service area, with lots of hills and turns. We typically drove with 3 car lengths between us and two trailers in tow and only had a couple of messages that didn’t go through. Bought on sale for ~$70 and was definitely worth the price

A: You may if using in the USA, as all GMRS frequencies require a family license. Canada, no license required as per ISED.

A: No limit (as with all FRS/GMRS radios). You can run as many as you like. The radio band is available to everyone. Only one person can talk at once of course. Hence the need for saying "over" when done talking, or listening for the loud audible "roger beep" when the press-to-talk button is released. Note that this particular radio cannot disable that "roger beep" through the menus, while other cobra radios can (ex: the RX100). I personnally like to disable the roger beep (I find it loud, and not that helpful anyways).
