Boasting a 20:1 debris reduction ratio, it condenses 20 bags of material into just 1 bag of mulch. The shredder handles limbs and branches up to 3 inches (7.6 cm) thick, while the heavy-duty shredder chute breaks down leaves and small sticks. A rear jam access cleanout port allows fast, hassle-free clearing of clogged debris.

3" wood chipper

i bought this wood chipper this summer and have been using it since to chip/mulch tree clippings and using it as mulch in my wife`s gardens.

Cannot shred leaves as claimed!

Like the earlier version of the same machine, this claims to mulch or shred leaves in a 20:1 ratio. The problem is that it is substantially reduced in capacity from the previous model 91050. The previous model would shred leaves as fast as you could feed them into the hopper. This one has a much smaller input hopper and discharge chute, as well as a row of rubber “fingers” at the top of the hopper. The end result is that this expensive machine will clog with leaves every few minutes, and is totally unsuited for shredding large quantities of leaves.
No, I do not recommend this product.

This machine has been substantially downsized from the previous generation. The input chute for leaves and small branches is smaller and the discharge chute is much smaller. The older version could mulch leaves as fast as you could feed them into the hopper. This one clogs up every few minutes, and the rubber screen on the hopper makes it almost impossible to feed any amount of leaves. And, even if you can get leaves to go through it, they are not reduced nearly as much as the older model. So, although the carton says you can mulch leaves, forget it and buy something else. This is an expensive machine that does not do what it claims to do.

I bought this unit to handle some out of control wild rose plants. It has surprised me how efficient it is at reducing stems, stalks and branches to mulch. Would recommend.
