Works for a short period but fails within random use after a year.

I'm on my third adapter now, they fail after a short period. The vibration from a generator likely causes them to fail. Using on a Honda 3000 watt inverter generator to charge batteries with a solar system. The charger (Magnum Energy 4024 top quality inverter/charger) cuts out when this adapter fails. Better off avoiding these Champion adapters and purchasing just the "plug adapter" online.

Q: There is Amperage limit? This adaptor can send 30amp to my device? Or it is only send 15 or 20 amp? My older machine has regular 5-15 plug, (maybe rewired by previovus owner!?) but the machine needed 20,5 amperage @ 110v Thanks

A: CT still 3 years later has not updated the picture. It now comes with a 20 amp pop out breaker. Breakers are designed to handle more current than what is rated for a short period of time. The higher the current the shorter time. The 12 guage wire is rated to carry 20 A. This pigtail is a very short length. That said the safe continious current is limited to 20 amps but would run 25+ amps for short periods of time and likely 30 ampsfor surge starting. Depending on the wire guage used and the length, you want to keep the voltage drop to a minimum. For example check that it is 110 volts + when full current draw. This is suited to use on 120 volt generators (3 prong twist plug for 25 amp) like the Champion 3000 watt generators, to take advantage of full power output as standard oultets are on 20 amp breaker and twist is 25 amp.

Q: Can this be used at the marina to connect to the shore power pedestal to run say a shop vac with a household plug?
