Q: For pick-up, can we just attach-it to a hitch or does it have to be put in a trailer?
3 years agoA: You can tow it with a 2” hitch. Of course a trailer would also work. The tires are rated for 50 mil/hr. So approximately 70km/h. Trailer if you’re going on the highway or tow it directly at lower speeds.

Q: Just purchased a 27 ton Champion log splitter. Assembled entire unit. Crate had no instructions or oil for the engine and hydraulics? Is the oils extra?
3 years agoA: It has been quite some time. I thought the engine oil was in the box but had to go out and purchase the hydraulic oil separately.

Q: Does the log splitter come assembled?
3 years agoA: No it doesn’t come assembled but it is straight forward with good instructions. If you purchase make sure to purchase the hydraulic oil for it if you don’t live close to a town. Ive had no issues with mine and I’ve had it for 3 years and has split close to 20 cords. I keep two building heated with wood.

Q: What is the capacity of oil needed for 27 tons. Splitter?
6 years agoA: If it is hydraulic oil you are referring to it is at least 20 litres, I’m thinking I got a 19 or 20 litre pail and another 4 litre jug to get it to proper level

Q: Does the 27ton have an auto return feature ?
7 years agoA: It does but it does not always return to full retract. I've used mine now for about 2 years and only occasionally is it an annoyance.

Q: Does the 27 ton Champion log splitter have a hydraulic oil filter in the hose or is it in the tank?
10 years agoA: It does not have a filter on the units that are fitted with the made in China motors.
