    Quiet Garage Door Opener

    I purchased this garage opener to replace my existing Chamberlain that broke after 14 years of usage. This belt drive operation is so quiet. I had it installed professionally to insure that it would work properly. I am very happy with this purchase.

    The features of the product are nice however the sound ruins it overall. Very noisy for a belt-drive, especially on the close cycle.

    Q: Hi hope all is great. I bought a chamberlain whisper drive garage door opener from Canadian tire Will this unit work with a 8ft high door or do I need an extension kit

    • A: You will need the 8ft rail extension. We recommend to contact Chamberlain Support with the model number of the opener and we can provide you with the part number for the extension kit. Or, it is also listed on the owner's manual of the unit as well.

    Q: I have a 1/2 HP Chain driven opener. Can I swap to a 1/2 HP belt driven Opener

    • A: That wouldn’t be an issue. HP and Drive type are all a preference to the consumer. If you use your Garage Door often you may want to step up to a larger motor (3/4 HP). As for the drive type; belt systems are better than a chain as they are just as strong or ever stronger in some cases. Furthermore, Belt drive garage door openers tend to be more quiet than chain so if you have a bedroom above the garage a belt drive would be ideal.
