Longer than 754-04260

Purchased this to replace original drive belt (754-04260) on Yardworks snowblower based on the manual documentation. Belt ended up being longer than the original and not working at all.

Quality is half of what was expected for twice the price.

Sometimes, when a belt is required for a snowblower repair during the aftermath of a 20cm snowfall, you cannot wait for delivery. There are specialty KEVLAR belts for severe service use, and Canadian Tire does stock some of these, but not in all popular sizes. They, for reasons unknown, stocked the size I needed, but NOT IN KEVLAR. However, the inferior belt in the required size was very much OVER priced to reflect this. In fact, compared to another local supplier, it was DOUBLE THE PRICE for Kevlar, and SIX times the price for a belt of the same quality!!!
There's different ways to look at Canadian Tire having this belt in stock. The first is a begrudged thank you for selling me what was so badly needed at a critical time at a hugely inflated price. The second is disgust at taking unabashed full advantage of people in a bad situation. Another is how I was made to feel. That was as though I was swindled. So many other vendors were offering the correct KEVLAR product as low as less than HALF of what I paid when I was in need. In the case of other local vendors, they were out of stock of this very popular size of Kevlar belt, but at a fair price. Of course, every online vendor had the Kevlar belt at much less than half Canadian Tire's price of the inferior quality belt, but, delivery in 24 hours would likely mean being unable to leave my driveway for up to 48 hours.
So thanks Canadian Tire, for having this over priced, inferior quality snowblower belt when I was in need. But it will take a long time to get past extremely bad feelings or being taken advantage of.
