Garage Combo Kit

THis is our first year changing our own tires and this kit was great. It gave us all we needed to lift and secure the cars. Recommend it

Limited use case

I took all the kit out to do my wheels change, and everything did work correctly (the wheel chocks were really stiff and hard to unfold). Unfortunatly, the jack doesn't lift that high and I wasn't even able to take my wheel off the ground, so I had to fall back on the car provided jack which is much less stable. The handle for the jack was also a bit awkward to manipulate. While not the tiniest car, my car (a Nissan Rogue) is not a really big car either. So be aware that the jack as really limited used case in term of vehicule. I bought it on sale at 99.99$. it was the cheapest option and you should expect it to be more clunky and awkward then more expensive option. If you have a small car, and you don't mind some awkwardness in your tool, this can be an acceptable budget option. I wouldn't recommend it to anybody, but I would also not recommend that you don't buy one if it fits your specific needs. Just be aware that it won't fit a lot of cars need.

Q: I have a 2010 Outback 3.6 R with a ground clearance of 8.7" and it has 17" wheels. Will this Jack Stand be sufficient to lift the tires off the ground for tire changes?

  • A: Anytime I have found any jack to not meet the lift height requirement presented I have simply used a single dlock of wood, like a 2x4 or 4x4 depending. The jack pad prongs dig into the wood to stabilize. Use the wood flat, not on edge, don't stack multiple pieces. Never use plywood or chip board or rocks/bricks. If that answer doesn't satisfy. simply crawl under a measure from ground to jacking points and do the math toward the jaqck capacity. Good Luck.

Q: Enough height & weight for mid-size SUV? ie Toyota Highlander

  • A: This is a trolley jack designed to lift directly under the axle or spring shackle, not the standard jack points under the door sill. I found it a bit too heavy to lift under the diff, so you need to do one side at a time, but its PLENTY high enough to lift my Xterra with 31" tires.

Q: Will it work with honda odyssey

2 Answers
  • A: If you look in the owners manual it will show you the jacking points. This is the only place on the body you can jack it up. If you put it anywhere else you could cause body damage. As for the jack stands as long as you place them on something solid like a part of the suspension you should be alright. You could ask the shop foreman at your local honda dealer he can tell you where you can put them safely.

Q: will the jack carry a mini van???? I have a Kia Sedona mini van, can this jack lift the van???

2 Answers
  • A: Yes, a 2ton will be suffice for lifting a minivan. considering the car weight 2t-2.5t, and the front axe weight at maximum 70% (overestimated), this means that the 2t jack will have to lift maximum 1.87t, which is within its limits. in real life, for a minivan, the jack effort would be around 1.2-1.4t. no reason to buy a 3t jack

Q: Will this lift a Mazda 5 ?

2 Answers
  • A: The curb weight of a Mazda 5 is approximately 1,551 – 1569 kg (3,419 – 3459 lb), where this is a 2-ton (4,000 lb) garage kit. Furthermore, a given jacking point, located on either side of the vehicle’s axles represents about 40% of the curb weight; therefore, you are definitely in the clear. Remember to use your axle stands and wheel chocks when lifting.
