An economical and convenient choice.

No fancy packaging or marketing to pass on to the consumer, so this becomes a good economical choice. And my small town store always has multiple grades in stock when I need it. That's convenient.
There's no way to do a quality comparison against the big brand manufacturers, but one of them most likely makes this oil for CTC. At some point you just have to trust the labeling that says the oil meets whatever standards the industry is expected to uphold.
I've bought a few pails of certified hydraulic oil over the years for anything from a woodsplitter to a car hoist, and most recently to top up the hydraulics of a mini excavator. It works just fine.

A: Thank you for reaching out. The owner’s manual should specify the required hydraulic fluid, but ISO 32 AW Hydraulic fluid is the most common hydraulic fluid for log splitters.
