Nice frame and semi decent setup

So, i jumped and bought this bike Saturday April 11. I bought this bike knowing what to expect from lower end components. It was more the frame I wanted as this will be my 5th CCM Ive rebuilt. CCM does make good hardtail frames and if it wasnt a BigBox store bike, with quality components these bikes are as good as Norco or GT. The derailers(Shimano) and shifters are nice and easy to use, if only they were adjusted properly. The front caliper was slightly out of adjustment, the disk was bending when brake was engaged. The Komp forks are a joke. Seriously. Even the manufacturer of them is so embarrassed that there is not a SINGLE MENTION of them online. But i knew Id wouldnt like them, had Rockshox Recons given to me that im going to install. The Ahead stem wasnt positioned correctly, the handlebars were held almost 70 degrees to travel straight. In fairness, I caught that after taking bike out of the back of my truck so possibly they were not tightened enough and loosened in my truck? Even despite all this, the bike is a nice ride. More than adequate for the average rider. Which brings me to another question. Who is putting these bikes together? I called several stores SPECIFICALLY looking for one unassembled and still in box. Specifically because i meant to rebuild this bike. at 1130am, i found it and paid for curbside pickup. 530, im told to come pick it up. Now, im not complaining about that. Covid 19 has everything backed up and the employees certainly are to be commended on efforts for everyone. But i AM going to to complain that instructions i was very specific about were ignored. I am going to complain about the manager who came out and informed me CT cant sell a bike still in box as it voids the warranty. That it has to be put together by "professionals". Well, 35 years of buying bikes, this is the FIRST assembled bike(even last 4 came from CT) I ever bought myself. And somebody needs to talk to whoever is assembling them. Only underscores why I do it myself.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    1 Answer
    • A: “The quick-release is 145mm long with diameter 5mm thread – we’d recommend you have a bike department associate take a look at the bike.”
