Garbage! 0/10

Barely got a year and a half out of this bike before the bottom bracket exploded. That’s pretty sad for a product at this price point. This review comes from a good sample size as I do about an hour ride a day on a paved city bike path which applies very little resistance as well as on a resistance trainer where I also put a trainer tire on for optimal contact. For a top model that’s pretty weak lifespan! Looking at costly repairs now or another new bike. Not to mention the water bottle mounting location is the silliest thing ever.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Satisfait, mais prix élevé

Prix trop élevé et qualité supérieure. Je dois m'habituer avec le vélo, car le suspension est particulière.

Save your money

I bought this bike a week ago and it’s had 2 catastrophic malfunctions in those 7 days. First happened on day 6, and was a failure of the tire. The inner inflatable ring popped while going up a less than 10cm high curb, which I’d say is completely unacceptable for a mountain bike. Second happened on day 7, and was a failure of the chain which resulted in several problems. I was preparing to go up a small hill along a paved walkway and peddling hard to build up speed, before even reaching the hill the chain fell off between the plastic bit and the gear wheel as seen in the picture. After putting the chain back on I realized there was a clicking sound that had not been there before, and it could no longer shift up in gears (though downshifting still worked). Canadian Tire just called to tell me they fixed it (Canadian tire employees have been very helpful 5/5 for customer service), but malfunctions of this nature are completely unacceptable out of a mountain bike at this price point, especially considering I haven’t taken it over terrain more complex than you’d find in any local suburb. Save your money, and buy something better. (Also Canadian Tire, this review is for educational, and cautionary purposes, the images are for reference to protect me against libel, and are the property of myself not your website, you will not redistribute them without my permission.)

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: is this bike to small for a 6' tall man

1 Answer
  • A: Standing height is only one factor when choosing the correct size bike. One should also consider inseam length to make sure there is enough stand-over clearance of the top tube. There are other factors to consider as well once mounted on the bike such as correct saddle height, and ensuring your upper body and arm position is comfortable and allows you to easily reach the shifters and brakes. We’d recommend you speak to a bike department associate at your local Canadian Tire store help you with this.
